Why all the amazing reviews you ask?! Well.. their food speaks for itself cause this is one good burger! I've had Stanton's bookmarked for the longest time but I never really crave burgers - the bf wanted something quick and we were already in the area to pick up ice cream (but that's another review =) so we decided to stop by. And I devoured my burger!!! I wasn't even really hungry and the bf says.. "You must really like it cause I've never seen you eat a whole burger before." True story. It's nothing fancy - I order a plain ol' Classic Bacon Cheeseburger and it was one of the best classic cheeseburgers I've ever had!! Why?! The buns were amazing - the bottom bun actually stayed crispy and never got soggy! You can actually pick this burger up and eat it like a burger! Win!!! Then the ingredients - you can taste the meat - quality! Everything else didn't try to hide or overpower it. The veggies were fresh! The onions, the tomatoes, the lettuce was crisp! Each bite had the perfect ratio of meat, veggies and bun! You didn't get too much bread and not enough filling, which is a constant issue I have at other places. Delicious!! The sweet potato fries were crispy and fantastic. I wish I knew the Italian fries were actually Parmesan truffle fries cause I would've gotten them. The only thing I didn't like was the waffle fries - they had a weird coating which made them taste weird (probably the seasoning/batter) and it ended up making them taste a bit too greasy as well. The interior looks and feels like a diner, but an upgraded diner cause it was clean and felt modern as well. If you're looking for a good burger with no frills, this is the place you've been looking for all your life. If you want the frills of a gourmet burger, this is not the place for you!
I noticed all the Asian trinkets while ordering so I told my bf I thought this was an Asian owned business. He didn't believe me and had to look it up. We read about the history of Stanton's and I was right - the store used to be a family-run grocery store with the owner being a butcher who decided to make burger patties! The family used to live on the 2nd story of the restaurant and the kids helped with the family business. The business was passed on to the son Art, who then passed it to his wife Theresa Fong after he passed away 2 years ago. Amazing history and local family-run business since 1961, which makes it all that much better! -

Much like any red blooded American we have all had burgers. And I will preface this post with stating I have had burgers from all over the country. Chain restaurants to men serving burgers on grill in the back of their trucks. With that said...
This place has some interesting options.
However is it in my top 10 of burger joint in Texas?
Sadly no.
But they do have this wonderful atmosphere that pulls you back into the 50-60's of Americana.
Burger I had was a poor choice (I'll admit that) I ordered the Cowboy Brunch.
An interesting idea just not executed well.
The burger was served on toast (hence the brunch in the title). Toast was dry and unappealing.
Also the burger was topped with an egg (again back to the brunch title). The egg was over cooked. Not a drop of yolk.
The burger itself was ehh. Little overdone. Not juicy as to be expected from such a highly rated burger joint.
Ultimately this place is a fun little throw back to yester-year but it really just missed the mark in a good quality burger. -

Wow. This was a hidden gem. A friend told me about it. We met for lunch. And bammm. A great menu. Lots of unique burgers. Good sides. Huge portions. Wish I had a pic of the menu board. Not sure of the burger I had, but had a fried egg on it. Some kinda good. Sweet potato fries that were sweet m crisp.
They have fountain drinks, canned drinks and canned beer.
Definitely will go back and try something different. A great burger joint. -

I really want to like this place but I've been underwhelmed every time I've been here.
This latest time the burger patty wasn't seasoned at all and the bun was soggy. Tried the Italian waffle fries. Fries were soft and Italian seasoning didn't have any flavor. Not sure what's to like. Plus a bit pricey for the overall quality. -

The throwback atmosphere is superb and the country music makes me want lemonade. The old fashion wrap paper is a nice touch. The service is comforting and not over too Mel's dinerish. Huge onion rings and hearty fries. The burgers are huge and fresh.
